Ongoing family films

A personal editor for life as it happens.

Your family is already capturing the material. I turn it into something you will actually return to.

What ongoing family editing means

What does an ongoing family editor do?

Your camera roll has fragments. A dedicated editor gives them a point of view.

This is an ongoing creative relationship that turns your existing family media into finished films.

The work is not automated recap-making. It is editorial judgment: choosing what matters, finding the sequence, cutting the music, cleaning what can be improved, and giving an ordinary period a beginning, rhythm, and ending.

What you can send

The media your family already has.

The cadence

Consistent enough to become part of family life.

Each engagement is individually scoped. The right rhythm depends on how much your family captures and the kind of finished films you want.

01

Weekly

Focused short films from the week’s most alive moments.

02

Monthly

A fuller edit that finds the shape of a month.

03

Seasonal

A cinematic reflection on a school term, summer, holiday season, or chapter.

04

By arrangement

A flexible retainer or cadence built around travel, school, and family rhythms.

Ongoing engagements are individually scoped. No invented package, no forced plan.

Better with time

The editor learns the family, too.

Over time, I learn the people, the relationships, the music, the important traditions, and the moments your family responds to.

That familiarity makes the process lighter and the films more personal. You spend less time explaining context. I spend more time finding the story.

How it works

A calm, repeatable workflow.

01

Agree on the rhythm

We discuss who will coordinate, how often material arrives, the kind of films you want, and who should review them.

02

Gather the meaningful pieces

Family members or a designated coordinator send the relevant media through the agreed transfer method.

03

Edit and shape

Brandon curates, sequences, cleans, scores, titles, and finishes the film personally.

04

Review and receive

The family reviews privately. Final delivery and any optional sharing versions follow the agreed plan.

Clear answers

What families ask before beginning.

Can I hire a private video editor for my family?

Yes. Private Family Films offers ongoing editing for families who already capture life on their phones and devices. Brandon curates that material and turns it into finished films on an agreed cadence.

Can someone turn our iPhone videos into a monthly family film?

Yes. Monthly is one of several possible rhythms. Weekly, seasonal, and individually arranged engagements are also available.

Do the videos have to be professionally shot?

No. Normal phone footage is the point. Good editing can give everyday material shape through selection, sequence, music, pacing, titles, and visual cleanup.

Can multiple family members send footage?

Yes. A workflow can be set up for contributions from several family members, or one person can coordinate everything on the family’s behalf.

Can our executive assistant or family office manage the process?

Yes. Private Family Films can work directly with a principal or through an executive assistant, household manager, concierge team, or family office.

Do we need to organize every file before sending it?

No perfect filing system is required. You choose the period’s meaningful material, and Brandon handles the editorial curation and story structure. Guidance is provided before the first transfer.

Can the finished films also be shared socially?

Yes, if the family chooses. The primary film can stay within the family, and a separate shareable version or format can be discussed when useful.

How much does ongoing family editing cost?

Ongoing engagements are individually scoped around cadence, volume, film length, and creative needs. A clear scope is agreed before work begins.
